Dehradun: The weather in Uttarakhand has taken a turn again on Tuesday, prompting the Indian meteorological department (IMD) to issue a yellow alert for rain in the districts of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Pithoragarh.

Weather is expected to be rainy

According to the IMD forecast, the weather is expected to be rainy with lightning in some parts of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Pithoragarh districts on Tuesday. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for these three districts. Snowfall is expected on peaks above 2800 meters. During this period, Rudraprayag, Tehri, and Dehradun districts may experience cloudy weather and light drizzle, while other areas are likely to remain dry. On Monday afternoon, the sky in Dehradun remained cloudy.

Moderate rain in many parts of the state

In this concern, Dr. Bikram Singh, director of the Dehradun meteorological department, stated that rain is expected in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Pithoragarh districts, with snowfall likely on high peaks on Tuesday. The weather is expected to clear and remain dry from March 5. The effect of another western wind, which became active on Monday, is expected to be at its maximum on Tuesday, resulting in light to moderate rain in many parts of the state. Snowfall is expected in areas with an altitude of more than 3200 meters. The weather is expected to improve from Wednesday.

In light of the yellow alert, residents and tourists are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest weather forecasts. The authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have advised people to avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions.
