New Delhi: The Box Office is ablaze this festive season with Singham Again, directed by the renowned filmmaker Rohit Shetty, drawing massive crowds to theaters. The action drama, labelled as the fifth installment in the Cop Universe franchise, opened to mixed critical reviews but has succeeded in winning over cinema lovers with its star-studded cast.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the highly anticipated movie has already crossed the impressive Rs 100 crore mark by raking in Rs 121.75 crore in its opening weekend. Whoa! That’s huge, isn’t it? Also, you will be amazed to know that this is Rohit’s 10th film to achieve this milestone.
His other films in the Rs 100 crore club include Sooryavanshi, Simmba, Golmaal Again, Dilwale, Singham Returns, Chennai Express, Bol Bachchan, Singham and Golmaal 3. This track record undoubtedly cements Rohit as one of India’s most successful directors.
For thye unversed, Singham Again stars Ajay Devgn in the titular role. It also features Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor and Jackie Shroff, adding to the entertainment quotient. The flick hit the silver screen on Friday (November 1, 2024) to encash Diwali festivities.
Singham Again Box Office clash
Well, Singham Again wasn’t the only big contender at the Box Office this Diwali. It shared the stage with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, starring Kartik Aaryan. Interestingly, the Anees Bazmee directorial is also working its magic on viewers. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, it has earned Rs 110.20 crore in just three days. The horror comedy brings back Vidya Balan as her iconic character Manjulika.
