A youth allegedly ended his life
Originally from Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district, this young man had been living with his sister in Halduchaur, Haldwani, where both worked in a private company. Family was forced to take him tied on car roof
After receiving the body from the hospital, the family attempted to arrange an ambulance to transport the deceased to Berinag in Pithoragarh, approximately 200 km from Halduchaur. The ambulance driver demanded Rs 12,000, which the family could not afford. Subsequently, the sister contacted a driver from their village, who helped transport the body on the roof of a car.
