New Delhi: The Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor on May 7 destroyed major terror hubs along LoC and in Pakistan. The strike, according to sources, resulted in the deaths of several significant Pakistani terrorists.
The terrorists were affiliated with globally recognised terror organisations, including Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.
Key Pakistani terrorists killed in Operation Sindoor on May 7
Mudassar Khadian (alias Mudassar, Abu Jundal): A member of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). His funeral prayer, notably held in a government school and led by Hafiz Abdul Rauf of Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD), a UN-designated terrorist, was reportedly attended by a serving Lieutenant General of the Pakistani Army and the Inspector General of Punjab Police.
Hafiz Muhammed Jameel: Associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and the elder brother-in-law of Maulana Masood Azhar.
Mohammad Yusuf Azhar (aliases Ustad Ji, Mohd Salim, Ghosi Sahab): Linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and another brother-in-law of Maulana Masood Azhar. He was wanted in connection with the IC-814 hijacking.
Khalid (alias Abu Akasha): A member of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) involved in numerous terrorist attacks in Jammu & Kashmir and weapons trafficking from Afghanistan. Senior Pakistani Army officials and the Deputy Commissioner of Faisalabad reportedly attended his funeral in Faisalabad.
Mohammad Hassan Khan: Affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and the son of Mufti Asghar Khan Kashmiri, the operational commander of JeM in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He was a key coordinator for terrorist attacks in Jammu & Kashmir.
Operation Sindoor was launched by India in response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, a major tourist hub in the Anantnag district of Kashmir. The attack was carried out by terror units backed by groups based in Pakistan. The incident resulted in the deaths of 28 tourists, including a local resident.
