Caught during the police checking

In view of the upcoming New Year and local bodies elections, Rajpur Police under the leadership of SHO Rajpur PD Bhatt was checking hotels, restaurants, bars, vehicles and suspicious persons on Sunday. Police have received the information that two main smugglers of Cobra Gang are going to supply cocaine in a big party to be held in Mussoorie. Acting on the information, the police team arrested two foreign nationals with 33 grams of cocaine on Kuthal Gate barrier on Mussoorie road. The cost of the recovered cocaine is said to be Rs 25 lakh. The accused have been identified as Princeley, a native of Tanzania, currently residing at Street Number C-18, Turner Road, Clement Town and Makhoselizwe, a native of Zimbabwe, currently residing at Turner Road, Clement Town.

During interrogation, the smugglers revealed that they are active members of the Cobra Gang and are originally from Tanzania and Zimbabwe. They frequently travel to Dehradun from their home countries and bring cocaine from Delhi, distributing it to their agents and smugglers across the country based on demand. They had brought cocaine from Delhi a few days ago, planning to supply it for the upcoming New Year celebrations and a party in Mussoorie.

Despite expired passports, foreign nationals involved in drug smuggling continue to be arrested. So far, the police have arrested six members of this gang. However, the fact that the accused were roaming freely despite their expired passports raises concerns about the vigilance of the intelligence agencies.
