Unprovoked firing by Pakistan Army along LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara, Uri and Akhnoor; Indian Army retaliates

Jammu: Pakistan Army again opened unprovoked fire using small arms and artillery guns along the Line of Control (LoC) in several areas of Jammu and Kashmir during the night of May 7-8, according to Indian Army. The firing took place in areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, and Akhnoor.

In response, Indian Army retaliated in a proportionate manner, ensuring control of the situation. Officials said Indian forces are on high alert and are monitoring the border closely.

The firing took place on the second day after Operation Sindoor.
