Premier League 2024/25: Dominic Solanke’s brace helps Tottenham defeat Aston Villa

New Delhi: The game between Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa was a tale of two different halves. With a lot at stake, Tottenham took home a 4-1 win after being a goal down during the break. Ange Postecoglou’s men comeback different after looking really a paler shadow of themselves in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The first half belonged mostly to Aston Villa, with Morgan Rogers scoring a rebound in the 32nd minute and took them to the break with a lead. Though in patches, the hosts looked dangerous, Tottenham never really bothered Emiliano Martínez in the goal. Of the 15 shots taken, only one had landed on target and, in the end, converted to goal.

The second half was a different story. Within four minutes of resuming play, Tottenham equalised with Heung-Min Son, who was returning from injury and assisting from the left flank as Brennan Johnson put it in the nets. It opened the floodgates for Tottenham as Dominic Solanke scored a brace within four minutes. His first goal came at the 75th minute after Dejan Kulusevski timed his pass perfectly for the the 27-year-old to double their score.
