New Delhi: Indian Ambassador to the US Vinay Kwatra corrected a CNN anchor during a live interview after the latter referred to Kashmir as Indian-Administered. The comments came during the discussion on the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
During the interview, Kwatra told BBC anchor Wolf Blitzer, “Let me correct you. Jammu and Kashmir are integral parts of India. Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) is the only issue to be resolved with Pakistan.”
‘We are at war with terrorists’
“We are at war with the terrorists, and we will, as I said, bring justice to the victims and hold them accountable,” he added as per news agency PTI. “Our foremost objective in this was (to) hold these lowlifes, subhuman monsters accountable and bring justice to the victims,” the envoy said further.
Tensions further increased between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 in which 26 civilians were killed and several others injured. The Resistance Front, a sister organisation of Pakistan-based terrorist group LeT claimed responsibility.
Further talking about the Pahalgam incident, Kwatra said, “In no world would you allow such terrorists to be given a free pass. And that is precisely what we did the day before yesterday.”
CNN Anchor: What can you tell us about events in “Indian administered Kashmir”?
Amb. Vinay Kwatra: I’m sorry but let me correct you. All of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. The only issue here is the return of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir pic.twitter.com/624V9OAMgO

“We carried out very precise, calibrated, measured response to these terrorists, to their factories, to their integrated facilities, which they run out of Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir…. It is nobody’s case to say that such terrorists should be given a free pass, wherever they are located,” he said further.
The incident led to massive anger across the country, after which Indian defence forces launched Operation Sindoor on May 7. In nearly half an hour of operation, as many as 24 missiles were targeted at nine locations of LeT and other locations of JeM and HM in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
