New Delhi: Since India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ that eliminated several terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, the neighbouring country has peddled one propaganda after another claiming to have successfully attacked India with the reality being the exact opposite. It has tried to spread fake news once again as Army Chief Asim Munir gifted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif a dated photo of a Chinese military drill as a souvenir. According to reports, Munir claimed it to be a proof of Pakistan’s strike against India.

In reality, the photo is an old one and has been used multiple times in the last five years. The photo is of PHL-03, a multiple Chinese rocket launcher and it was first shared in 2019 and with photographer Huang Hai said to have captured it.

As per reports, recently, Field Marshal Asim Munir hosted a high-profile dinner meant to honour the ‘steadfast commitment’ and ‘indomitable spirit’ of the political leadership, and the armed forces and also of the people of Pakistan as was seen during “Marka-e-Haq – Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.” During the dinner, Munir presented Shehbaz with the photo and it was been mocked widely on social media.

Social media users pointed out that the photo was taken during 2019 Chinese drills. According to one user,
“Shehbaz Sharif Gifted Chinese Drill Pic As ‘Op Bunyan’ Memento To Pak Army Chief. I don’t think they know anything about Google Image Search.”

Another user wrote, “Pak PM just gifted Asim Munir a photo from a 2019 Chinese military drill—faking war glory against India. Instead, India provided corroborated evidences of strikes with precision and power during #OperationSindoor. Denial, deception, and delusion remain state policy of Pakistan.”
