New Delhi: The release date for Vettaiyan on OTT is locked and loaded. Yes, you read that right! The Tamil-language action drama film is all set for its digital release. Prime Video India made the announcement on Friday (October 31, 2024) through a special Instagram post.
The much-talked-about movie will be available for streaming online on November 8, 2024, in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages. Prime Video users in India and across 240 countries and territories worldwide will be able to watch the film. And, the announcement has left fans beaming with joy.
Vettaiyan Box Office collection
Ahead of its theatrical release, Vettaiyan generated significant buzz on social media. However, it struggled to convert the hype into theater footfall. In a shocking turn of events, it didn’t make a major impact at the Box Office. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Vettaiyan collected Rs 253.05 crore at the Box Office globally. It is the second highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024.
Directed by renowned filmmaker TJ Gnanavel, the movie was produced by Subaskaran Allirajah’s Lyca Productions and featured superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role. You will be amazed to know that Vettaiyan marked the Tamil debut of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
The film also starred Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Vinod Sagar, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Abhirami and Ramesh Thilak in supporting roles. The storyline of Vettaiyan revolves around a senior police officer investigating the murder of a teacher. On IMDb, it holds a rating of 7.8 out of 10, based on insights from over 30,000 users.
