Pahalgam terror attack: How India can retaliate to set a precedent; Here’s what defence experts say

New Delhi: Defence experts have emphatically said that India should and will give a befitting reply to the Pahalgam terror attack at the earliest. They contended that terrorism has emanated from the Pakistan side and ISI-controlled LeT is involved, and India needs to retaliate and target them first and hit them extremely hard to set an example.

Maj Gen (R) Sanjay Meston pointed out that every option is available for India and this time, it should be more than a surgical strike, since things are in favour of India as Pakistan is battling even on their western front. “A full-scale war is not recommended but India has and will hit hard this time; it should take punitive action all across LoC.”

He added: “Indian blood cannot be spilled at random, the Pakistan Army and their ISI handles deserve punishment. All Indians and all political parties in India should get united at this hour.”

The defence experts also contended that all diplomatic relations with Pakistan should be stopped. International pressure should be mounted on Pakistan and it should be isolated economically, diplomatically and politically.
