New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah slammed Pakistan on Friday and said that Operation Sindoor conducted by the Indian Armed Forces has exposed the fact that terrorism in India is fully sponsored by the neighbouring country. In Operation Sindoor, Indian forces destroyed several terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
Addressing the Border Security Force (BSF) Investiture Ceremony in New Delhi on May 23, Shah said, “Operation Sindoor has exposed that terrorism in India is absolutely Pakistan-sponsored.” He said the Indian Armed Forces first hit the terror bases in Pakistan but the Pakistan Army retaliated by trying to attack India.
Shah added, “We launched Operation Sindoor and destroyed nine terrorist camps. It is important to note that we didn’t target the Pakistan Army installations, civilians or air base. We targeted the terrorists, but Pakistan took it on itself and proved that it was Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.”
He added, “They dared to target our civilians but couldn’t succeed in front of our air defence system. In response to this, we targeted their air base and introduced our striking capability to them.” He mentioned the Surgical Strike and the Pulwama attack and said, “In reply to which, we did an air strike. Now, in Pahalgam, innocent tourists were killed after asking about their religion. Operation Sindoor was the reply to it. The world is appreciating us for this. I salute the Army.”
Amit Shah lauds BSF
Amit Shah also lauded the BSF’s role in securing the borders and emphasised its patriotism and commitment which make it one of the best border forces in the world. He praised its exemplary performance during Operation Sindoor, and highlighted how the force effectively stopped nefarious activities along the border.
Shah credited the success of Operation Sindoor to the strong political will of Centre, accurate information provided by the intelligence agencies and the Armed Forces’ amazing display of lethality. He said the BSF and the armed forces have showcased great valour and the true power of defence in India’s conflict against Pakistan.
