Pakistan admits India struck two of its key airbases during Operation Sindoor

New Delhi: Weeks after India’s military action against Pakistan, Islamabad admitted that two of its key airbases were attacked during ‘Operation Sindoor’ carried out by New Delhi targeting terror infrastructures last month following the Pahalgam terror attack.

A video of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, which is doing the rounds on the social media, shows him saying that India struck the Nur Khan and Shorkot airbases during the retaliatory strikes. Dar also said that Saudi Prince Faisal bin Salman contacted him after the strikes and asked him if he should talk to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and tell him that Pakistan was “ready to stop”, according to Geo News.

India carried out airstrikes targeting terror facilities in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7 days after the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. The government made it clear that the action was “precise, measured and non-escalatory,” targeting only terror-related infrastructure and installations involved in planning or supporting cross-border attacks.

On April 22, Pakistan-backed attackers stormed the Pahalgam tourist spot, asked people their religion, and killed them, resulting in 26 deaths. In response, India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ to destroy the terror bases behind the attack. However, Pakistan hit back and used drones and shelling to target religious sites. India strongly retaliated.

Sharing the video of Dar on X, the BJP’s IT cell chief Amit Malviya wrote on X that Pakistan has officially admitted that it was hit.”

Pakistan continues to unravel under the weight of its own admissions.

“Pakistan admits it ran to both the US and Saudi Arabia, begging India to halt. Pakistan inadvertently admits that Trump wasn’t the only one lobbying India — even Riyadh was roped in,” Malviya wrote. “From Balakot to Sindoor, Pakistan’s denials continue to collapse under truth bombs. A national security embarrassment for them, a strategic validation for India,” he added.
