Varanasi: Jagadguru Sri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his strong leadership and said that India is making great strides and progress under him. The seer also noted that the god is getting various work done through the Prime Minister.
Addressing the event, after PM Modi inaugurated the RJ Sankara Eye Hospital in Varanasi on Sunday, the seer also coined an acronym for the NDA government as ‘Narendra Damodardas ka Anushashan’ – a model of governance which is focused on the safety, convenience, and well-being of people of the country.
‘PM Modi understands challenges of common people’
Noting that the Prime Minister understands the challenges faced by the common people, the Shankaracharya noted that the former understands the problems faced by the common man and is working for their development. He also noted that the NDA Government is working for the people of the country with compassion, which was observed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking about Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, the spiritual leader further observed that the government made sure that no one slept hungry during the crisis.
NDA Government a role model for others: Kanchi Shankaracharya
Pointing out that the NDA Government is a role model of governance, he further urged other countries to emulate the former. Due to its rising status and bright future, India would help in providing a key role in global peace, he added. Citing examples of work done in Somnath and Kedarnath, the Shankaracharya also observed that along with the infrastructural development of the country, the government is also focused on cultural rejuvenation.
