New Delhi: In Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district, the villages of Bechan Chhapra and Sawan Chhapra in the Dokati police station area erupted into chaos on Friday when the bodies of three minor students were found floating in the river Ganga.
The news spread like wildfire, and villagers gathered in score at the Jagdishpur Ghat, bewildered and infuriated. While the police have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination, the local people are anxiously waiting for an answer: How did the incident happen?
According to reports, Vinay Gond, aged 14 and Sandeep Gond, aged 15, both from Sawan Chhapra along with Wasim, aged 15 from Bechan Chhapra claimed of going to tuition classes in Bhojapur and left on their bicycles. But they did not return by evening, sending their anxious parents in a fit of frenzy who began to search for them.
The tragic news and heartbreak
Around 6 pm, the families were informed that abandoned bicycles, shorts, vests, and a bag with notebooks bearing their names had been found at the Jagdishpur Ghat. The shocked, crestfallen parents rushed to the spot, and began to cry uncontrollably. It was suspected that although the boys left for tuition, they went to the ghat for a bath and drowned.
