Kaushambi: A special couple stole the spotlight during the Chief Minister’s mass marriage program in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district. Among the 321 couples who tied the knot, one pair caught everyone’s attention, a two-and-a-half-feet-tall groom and a two-and-a-half-feet-tall bride. Their wedding became the most talked about moment of the event, and photos and videos of the couple are now going viral on social media.
The mass marriage event was held on Thursday at Bharwari Bhavans Mehta Mahavidyalaya in Chail tehsil. It was a government-sponsored program where 321 couples from across the region registered and got married in a collective ceremony. Several senior officials and dignitaries, including former BJP MLAs and Panchayat Presidents, attended the grand event and blessed the couples.
The groom, Jitendra Patel, is a fruit seller based in Mumbai. Originally from Pratapgarh district, he flew into Kaushambi just in time for his wedding. The bride, Hiramani Patel, hails from the Nagar Palika Parishad Bharwari area and is 2.5 feet tall. Despite their small statures, their love and commitment stood tall and became a heartwarming highlight of the entire program.
Jitendra’s elder brother Rajendra shared that both brothers work in Mumbai selling fruits. They had been discussing Jitendra’s marriage for some time, and when they got to know about the mass marriage program scheduled for May 22, they booked a flight immediately to bring Jitendra back to Kaushambi.
The couple tied the knot in the presence of their family members and district officials. Everyone present appreciated the government’s initiative, which helps couples begin their married life with dignity and support.
District magistrate Madhusudan Hulgi said that all 321 couples, including Jitendra and Hiramani, received benefits under the state government scheme. The event was well-organized, and the participation of families made it even more special.
