New Delhi: Saudi Arabia is all set to have a building that will be the world’s largest once completed. The building known as ‘Mukaab’ in the capital city of Riyadh is being built at the approximate cost of $ 50 billion. The building will be 1,300 feet high and 1,200 feet wide. The building will have 2 million square feet of floor space and will have both offices and residential units.

According to a report published in ‘The Sun’, the design of the building is a combination of modern Najdi architecture along with new technologies, which include immersive digital and holographic experiences. While the building will provide a new kind of experience, here is a list of some of the mega buildings across the globe.

Diamond Bourse Building

Located in Gujarat’s Surat district in India, it is currently India’s tallest building. The building is built over 35.5 acres of land. It has 660,000 square metres built-up area. Importantly, the building has nine 15-story towers which are connected by a central corridor. Also, the building has 4,500 offices in it and has 131 elevators. Among the other features of the building is a two-level underground parking space in which 4,500 cars and 10,000 two-wheelers can be parked at a time.

Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is currently considered as the world’s tallest building. It has a height of 829.8 metres and a roof height of 828 metres. The building was built in 2009. It surpassed Taiwan’s Taipei which was the world’s largest building before this. The building was opened in 2010 Burj Khalifa was designed to be the centre of large-scale and mixed-use development.

Taipei 101 in Taipei City Taiwan was the world’s largest building before Burj Khalifa The building is owned by Taipei Financial Centre Corporation. After its completion in 2004, the building became the world’s first skyscraper with a height of over half a kilometre . It is currently the tallest building in Taiwan and the eleventh tallest building worldwide.
