New Delhi: A Gen Z employee’s leave request went viral on social media. Unlike long explanatory lines, the email was simple. Netizens were impressed and called the letter “spot-on”. They claimed it was time for managers to stop asking leave reasons to their employees.

Siddharth Shah, an X user, shared a screenshot of an email he received from one of his Gen Z employees. The letter requesting leave was sent with the subject heading “Leave on 8th November”. In the body, the employee wrote, “I will be on leave on 8th Nov 2024, bye.” Shah shared the leave application with the caption, “How my Gen Z team gets its leaves approved.” The post quickly gained traction on social media. Netizens could not stop lauding the employee. Many appreciated the individual’s uncomplicated letter. They stated that employees should not be put in a position to explain the reasons for their leaves to their managers. Further, users said that employees should be denied leave, especially when they are entitled to take them.
