Bambiha gang exposed: 100 members, violent network across 4 states | Full details

New Delhi: In a concerted effort to dismantle the notorious Bambiha syndicate, law enforcement agencies have meticulously mapped out the gang’s operational territories and identified approximately 100 of its members. The syndicate recently made headlines with a brazen shooting at a businessman’s residence in northwest Delhi, where they demanded Rs 10 crore in protection money.

A detailed dossier sheds light on the inner workings of the Bambiha syndicate, revealing that Kaushal Chaudhary serves as the India operations chief, overseeing Gurgaon and parts of Haryana alongside his associate Amit Dagar. Meanwhile, jailed gangster Neeraj Bawana and his associates, including Naveen Bali, have established their stronghold in outer Delhi and Rohini. The dossier further elaborates on the gang’s territorial divisions, Bhuppi Rana manages operations in Yamunanagar and Chandigarh, while Sukhpreet Budda oversees other regions of Punjab. Notably, Arshdeep Singh Gill, known as Arsh Dalla from Canada, and Lucky Patial based in the US, orchestrate activities from abroad.

The document highlights Chaudhary’s rise within the organisation following the death of gang leader Davinder Bambiha in September 2016. Prior to his demise, Chaudhary and Dagar provided refuge to Bambiha in Gurgaon, solidifying their alliance. After Bambiha’s death, Dagar, while incarcerated in Rohini jail, initiated contact with Lucky Patial via WhatsApp, further strengthening their collaboration. Chaudhary also formed ties with Fateh Nagri, a key player in the Bambiha gang, during their shared time in Sangroor jail.

As various gangs, including those led by Bawana and Bali, began to forge alliances with the Bambiha syndicate, their collective goal was to expand influence and counter the dominance of the rival Lawrence Bishnoi-Kala Jatheri syndicate across Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi. This collaboration has led to a surge in extortion activities as these gangs leveraged their established networks.

“Subsequently, members of different gangs, including Neeraj Bawana/Naveen Bali, Tillu Tajpuria Gang, Sunil Rathi group, and Chhenu Pehalwan gang of northeast Delhi, started developing associations with members of the Bambiha gang. The aim was to increase their influence and counter the growing influence of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Kala Jatheri terror gangster syndicate in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. Extortion money was a byproduct of this influence, as most of the gangs already established sustainable extortion rackets in their respective areas before becoming inter-state gangster-criminal syndicates,” says a chargesheet filed by NIA.

“By 2021, the main associates of the Bambiha gang came in contact with friendly gangs operating in Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, etc., and started working together to execute their plans, with the intention of increasing their area of influence and operations. Their interaction, meetings and continuous conversations using mobile phones from jails led to many major incidents subsequently,” it reads further.

The dossier outlines a series of violent incidents linked to the Bambiha syndicate. In March 2021, they executed a double murder orchestrated by associate Dinesh Gandhi from Thailand. The murder of Shiromani Akali Dal youth leader Vicky Micky Kheda in August 2021 was a pivotal moment that contributed to the subsequent assassination of Punjabi pop singer Sidhu Moose Wala.

The Bambiha syndicate’s involvement in high-profile murders continued with the assassination of rival gangster Jitender Gogi in September 2021 and kabaddi player Sundeep Ambia in March 2022. Retaliation from the Bishnoi syndicate is now anticipated following a series of violent reprisals, including the brutal killing of Bishnoi gang member Rajan earlier this year. As tensions escalate, authorities remain on high alert for potential retaliatory strikes from rival factions.
