In the past few months, hundreds of people have suffered from wolf attacks across Uttar Pradesh.

Bahraich: A man-eater wolf was beaten to death by locals in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh. This wolf had been terrorising the locals by attacking children and a woman in recent days, making it responsible for at least ten attacks in the area.

Residents had been living in fear due to these attacks, and when they spotted the wolf in the village, they quickly surrounded it. The villagers, frustrated by the ongoing threat, used sticks to beat the wolf to death.

Wolf beaten to death

This situation is part of a larger problem in Uttar Pradesh, where wolves have caused significant harm. In the past few months, hundreds of people have suffered from wolf attacks across the state, leading to multiple deaths and thousands of injuries.

One particularly troubling case took place in Tamachpur village, located under the Ramgaon police station. The wolf had come into the village with the intent to hunt a goat but ended up being killed by the villagers instead. For the last three months, residents of Tamachpur had been living in fear of the wolf’s presence.

Terror of wolves

Over the past few months, six wolves had been causing terror in Bahraich, with five of them captured by the forest department. However, one lame wolf continued to evade capture and was particularly troublesome for the locals. After 21 days of searching, the forest department was unable to catch it, but the villagers took matters into their own hands.

Following the wolf’s death, the forest department arrived at the scene to collect the wolf’s body. They have sent it for a post-mortem examination.
