New Delhi: There’s danger looming over superstar Salman Khan. Notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang has been allegedly plotting to assassinate the actor. Amid the death threats and constant updates, a video of Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera has resurfaced on social media where he opened up about the security of Salman Khan and the challenges that he faces when the actor goes to public places.
For the unversed, an accused has been arrested by Navi Mumbai police from Panipat, Haryana for allegedly plotting to kill the actor. A few days back after Baba Siddique’s murder, reports suggested that Salman Khan’s name was on the top of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang’s hit list.
When Shera talked about Salman Khan’s security
Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera has been protecting the bhai of Bollywood for nearly three decades now. In 2023, in an interview with the news agency, ANI, Shera spoke in detail about the challenges he faced while protecting Salman, who was a threat to his life.
He said that Salman Khan has a threat to life and hence, it is difficult for him to go into the crowd, adding that when you are in security, “It is about taking a decision at the right time”. However, he admitted that managing the crowd is the biggest challenge. Shera revealed that his job is to protect Salman Khan and local security to take care of the crowd.
In another interview with Zoom, Salman Khan’s bodyguard said, “Our jodi is unique—he’s a Pathaan, I’m a Sardar, and together, we’re unbeatable. ’ve told Bhai, ‘Jab tak mein hu, tab tak mein apki seva karunga’.”
For the unversed, Shera, whose real name is Gurmeet Singh Jolly, has been associated with Salman Khan since 1995.
Tight security around Salman Khan
After the murder of the NCP leader, Baba Siddique, security has been tightened around Salman Khan and his Mumbai home, Galaxy Apartments. The superstar’s infamous Blackbuck poaching case continues to haunt him. In 2018, during a court appearance in Jodhpur, Lawrence Bishnoi threatened to kill him. Since then, the star has been receiving death threats from the notorious gangster.
In April this year, gunshots were fired at Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments and the two accused were nabbed by police.
