Video: Truck hits man sitting on chair in middle of road in UP’s Pratapgarh

New Delhi: A chilling video has gone viral, showcasing a disturbing incident in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, capturing a man sitting on a chair in the middle of a busy road during a heavy downpour.

The 17-second clip shows the man, dressed only in shorts, sitting calmly on a plastic chair as vehicles pass by, unfazed by the torrential rain and the bustling traffic. The video was reportedly filmed near a police checkpost, but there was no intervention from authorities, even as onlookers mocked the man.

As seen in the video, the scene takes a shocking turn when a truck approaches. The man, oblivious to the approaching vehicle, is knocked to the ground as the truck hits the arm of his chair. The driver, seemingly encouraged by the bystanders who urge him not to stop, continues driving away.

The truck that hit the young man is being identified and further legal proceedings are underway,” the police said in a post on X.
