Chhapra: In a major accident in Bihar, several people suffered injuries after the tin roof they were standing on to enjoy the delights of an orchestra show collapsed in Chhapra city on Tuesday night. Videos from the spot showed hundreds of people standing atop the roof moments before it went down.
A stampede-like situation occurred after the accident as a crowd of hundreds of others at the event ran for safety, causing the injuries.
The incident took place at the Mahavir Mela in the Isuapar area of Chhapra, where thousands of locals had gathered to watch a music event. People crowded around the stage and lined the sides of the road, with many climbing balconies, trees, and rooftops to get a better view.

As the crowd danced and jumped, a video captured the moment when a temporary blue tin roof suddenly gave way, causing hundreds of people standing on it to crash down. The injured were rushed to the hospital, with police officers from two stations arriving at the scene to assist. According to the police, 10 of the injured are in critical condition.
10 injured in collapse incident at religious gathering
In a separate incident from the Saran district, 10 people were injured after a makeshift tent collapsed on them during a religious event in the Hishua area in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The incident happened around 3 AM as a religious procession was passing through the area, according to a senior police officer. The injured were immediately shifted taken to the nearest government hospital, police said.
