Dehradun: State government will soon formulate a policy to keep sports facilities safe, secure, and smooth. In view of the National Games 2025 which Uttarakhand hosts this year, the sports infrastructure developed by the government has put the hill state in the category of leading states which have proper sports facilities.
The state’s sports minister Rekha Arya has already made it clear that the state government will soon introduce a policy to ensure proper maintenance of sports facilities.
Beautification work near venues of sports events to be completed soon
The construction and beautification work undertaken near the venues of various sports events of the National Games 2025 in the state’s different districts are likely to be completed within three and four days. During National Games 2025, various sports events will be held in different cities, including Dehradun, Haridwar, Haldwani, Almora, and Rudrapur.
Sports minister personally monitor beautification and construction works in different districts
Sports minister Rekha Arya continues to visit these cities to personally monitor the construction and beautification work near the venue of sports events. The works of beautification and installation of the symbol of the National Games 2025 are to be completed at a few places. The minister hopes that these works will be completed within three or four days.
Sports facilities in small towns and villages
Apart from big cities, the stadiums, sports hostels, and cycling velodrome and other things which have been constructed in small towns and villages, will play a major role in establishing the state in the world of sports. Thus, the state is supposed to undertake special efforts to maintain the sports infrastructures. Sports talent can be honed with the help of sports facilities, the minister Arya said.
New policy under the state’s legacy programme
The state government will formulate policy to keep sports facilities safe, secure, and smooth under its legacy programme. The proper maintenance of sports facilities is also required in view of the state government’s plan to hold national internal sports competitions in the state. Besides, it will also benefit the sportsmen who want to participate in big events at global and national level.
