New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, PM Modi has announced a new benchmark for those aspirants who want to contest on a BJP ticket. Addressing the BJP workers in Bihar, PM Modi remarked that the party ticket aspirants must have at least 50,000 followers on social media platforms.

The PM has also set out a roadmap for the party’s campaign strategy while speaking at the BJP state headquarters. He also emphasised on strengthening the party at the grassroots. “We will win elections only when our booths are strong. Social media is the new battleground, and those seeking tickets must show active presence and influence online,” he said.

PM Modi remains one of the most followed political figures worldwide. He has repeatedly underscored the need for social media presence to culminate a wider support base among the public. PM Modi believes that social media encourages positive digital engagement that helps to strike a chord among the people and connect to the voters.

PM also believes social media presence also helps to propagate the government’s achievements. He encouraged the party workers to amplify the message of India’s tough stance against terrorism and emphasised the importance of programs such as ‘Mann Ki Baat’ that reaches every corner of the nation.

Emphasis on politics reflecting values of hard work

PM Modi also took a strong stand against dynastic and succession policies. He warned party members not to indulge in the practice of dynastic politics. He also urged party workers to refrain from promoting family members for electoral gains. “Politics should be based on merit and hard work, not inheritance. If a worker toils day and night, he should be rewarded, not bypassed for someone’s son,” Modi said.

The PM also advised patience and loyalty, cautioning against frequent party hopping especially during the election season. “Such behaviour reduces your value. The BJP respects dedication and consistency,” he said.

A new electoral approach

With campaign heating up across the state, PM Modi’s directives have been seen as providing a direction to the party workers and making them value the aspects of professionalism and digital engagement.

The BJP is formally expected to begin its candidate selection soon, and the 50,000 criterion is expected to be the new and reformed deciding parameter to give tickets.
