Dehradun: In Uttar Pradesh, a case of extortion has emerged involving the misuse of the name of Uttarakhand’s cabinet minister, Rekha Arya. Allegedly, a woman and her supposed uncle have been exploiting the minister’s name and position for their own gain. Following a complaint from Minister Rekha Arya, the Bareilly police have registered a case against the accused and has started investigating the matter.

Not only this, cabinet minister Rekha Arya has also accused the woman of stealing seven lakh rupees and a gold necklace from her house.

Misuse of the name of the minister and her husband

According to available information, Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya’s in-laws reside in Bareilly district, Uttar Pradesh. Her husband, Girdhari Lal Sahu, lives with his family in the Baradari police station area of Bareilly. In a complaint to the Director General of Police in Bareilly, Rekha Arya has alleged that a woman named Kalpana Mishra, also known as Kalpana Chaturvedi, is misusing her and her husband Girdhari Lal Sahu’s names.

Extorting money fraudulently

The Uttarakhand minister also alleged in her complaint that Kalpana Mishra has fraudulently registered her husband’s home address in her personal documents for wrong purposes. It is also alleged that Kalpana misused Rekha Arya’s position and name to extort money fraudulently. Apart from this, Kalpna also stole seven lakh rupees and a gold Rudraksha necklace from her residence.

Accused’s uncle was also involved in the fraudulent activities

In her complaint, Rekha Arya has also alleged that Kalpana Mishra has installed a Uttarakhand government board, blue light, and hooter on her car. Additionally, it is claimed that Kalpana Mishra has an alleged uncle named Dr. RC Pandey, who is accused of being involved in various illegal activities. Rekha Arya has expressed concerns that Dr. RC Pandey may be connected to a larger criminal gang.

A case has been registered in Baradari police station

According to the Inspector in-charge of Baradari police station Amit Pandey, “On the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered against the accused Kalpana Mishra and her maternal uncle Dr. RC Pandey. The police have started investigating the case.” Rekha Ayra is Uttarakhand’s cabinet minister who carries the profiles for women empowerment, child development, food, civil supplies and consumer affairs, sports, and youth welfare.
