Uttarakhand BJP surpasses its membership drive target, enrolled 20.17 lakh members

Dehradun: BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt said on Sunday that the party has achieved a milestone by adding more than 20 lakhs members during the membership drive held across the state.

During a media briefing at the BJP headquarters Dehradun, Bhatt congratulated all the party workers for the success of the primary membership campaign in the organization. He also said that Uttarakhand has become one of the top six states by adding 20,17,397 members to the organisation.

Party has run an all-encompassing membership campaign in the state

Bhatt provided detailed information about the record figures achieved in the first phase, conducted from September 2 to 25, and the second phase from October 16 to 31. He mentioned that 20,17,397 members have been enrolled so far, surpassing the target of 20 lakh members set by the Center for the state organization. The party has run an all-encompassing membership campaign in the state, reaching from villages to metropolises, including housewives, working women, laborers, owners, farmers, soldiers, the poor, and millionaires.

9 districts have successfully met their membership targets

In this campaign, 9 districts have successfully met their membership targets, Uttarkashi, Almora, Pauri, Dehradun Mahanagar, Haridwar, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Tehri, and Kotdwar. Additionally, there are 10 assembly constituencies where more members have been enrolled than the total votes received by the party in the Lok Sabha elections. These constituencies include Almora, Tehri, Dehradun Cantt, Purola, Srinagar, Yamunotri, Gangotri, Haldwani, Haridwar, and Didihat.

23 constituencies with 100% of membership target

From the perspective of assembly constituencies, there are 23 constituencies where the party has achieved 100% of its membership target. Additionally, 44 constituencies have reached between 50% to 100% of their targets, while the remaining have achieved 47%. Among those who have added more than 10,000 members in different categories, Mr. Khateeb Ahmed from the minority category, party vice president Mr. Deshraj Karnwal from the scheduled caste category, and Mr. Munesh Kumar from the other backward class category have been the top contributors. Former state president Shri Madan Kaushik has added the most members in the state, enrolling 16,152 people into the party.
