Dehradun: In Uttarakhand, 3256 Inner Line Permits have been issued for the Adi Kailash Yatra, marking an enthusiastic start to the pilgrimage season. The journey to Adi Kailash and Om Parvat, which began on May 2, has witnessed increasing pilgrim registrations, reflecting the growing spiritual devotion in Uttarakhand.
Meanwhile, the Char Dham Yatra, encompassing Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, continues to see massive turnout from devotees across the country and abroad. Tourism and Religious Affairs Minister Satpal Maharaj confirmed that the pilgrimage is progressing smoothly, with travelers eagerly booking their journeys in large numbers.
Kailash Mansarovar yatra returns after five years
Another major highlight of the pilgrimage season is the return of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, which is set to begin on June 30 from Delhi after a five-year hiatus. A total of 250 pilgrims will embark on this sacred journey, divided into five groups of 50 each. The first group will enter China via Lipulekh Pass on July 10, while the last group will return to India on August 22. The Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) is overseeing the arrangements, ensuring medical examinations of pilgrims in Delhi before departure.
Pilgrim registrations and travel demand skyrocket
Since the Char Dham Yatra commenced on April 30, more than 29 lakh devotees have registered for online and offline bookings, and eight lakh pilgrims have already visited the sacred sites. The waiting list for trains from Prayagraj to Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Dehradun has increased significantly, highlighting the growing influx of devotees. Tour operators and businesses associated with travel services have also reported a surge in bookings, reinforcing the high anticipation surrounding the yatra.
As enthusiasm continues to rise, Uttarakhand is once again emerging as a vital spiritual hub, welcoming lakhs of devotees eager to embark on their sacred journeys.
