Mumbai: NCP (Sharad Pawar) leader Jitendra Awhad on Tuesday met Maharashtra Caretaker Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde on Friday, sparking speculations even as the Mahayuti is yet to to announce the name of the chief minister in the state. He also revealed that Shinde decided to leave for his village as he was ‘tired’.
Sharing further, Ahwad said, “I had come to meet him in connection with my work and we met for two minutes. I asked him why he was going to the village, he said that he was tired and that is why he was going to the village.”

In the Assembly election results that were announced last week, the Mahayuti won 236 seats while MVA won just 46 seats in the 288-member Assembly. However, even after a week the ruling alliance is yet to name the chief minister. While Caretaker CM Eknath Shinde, NCP leader Ajit Pawar and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis were in Delhi on Thursday and held discussiions with Home Minister Amit Shah, the allince is yet to announce the name of the new CM. On Friday, Shinde had left for his village which lead to speculations.
Mahayuti meeting postponed
Earlier in the day, a meeting of the Mahayuti was postponed after left for his village unexpectedly. The meeting is now slated to take place on Sunday. The BJP legislature party meeting is expectec to be held on December 1, wherethe Chief Minister’s name is expected to be announced. There is also speculation that BJP consider a Maratha leader for the post. After this meeting, a joint Mahayuti session is exped to be be convened.
