UP Yoddhas triumph over Dabang Delhi in low-score thriller

New Delhi: UP Yoddhas won their season opener match in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 11. Yoddhas defeated Dabang Delhi in a low-scoring thriller contest. Yoddhas beat Delhi by 28-23 led by Sahul Kumar. Sahul made a high 5 in the match and was only a defender in the match to do so and also no raider scored a super-10 in the match.

Bhavani Rajput was the best raider in the match scoring seven raid points in the match. He scored the points in the crucial time and helped Yoddhas to get their first win in the PKL season 11. Yoddhas skipper Surender Gill made a mark in the match by scoring the first raid point of the night. In the first half of the match, both teams were giving tough competition to each other as no team took an outright lead in the match.

The first half ended on a slow start by both teams and finished with a score line of 12-11. In the second half of the match, Both teams cautiously started the half and found it tough to break the defense of each other. At the end of the first phase of the second half, Yoddhas had only a lead of two points.

In the second phase of the second half, the player showed pace in the match by Delhi’s raiders wanted to take charge of Yoddhas’s defender but Sahul didn’t give them any chance to fight back in the match and took a lead of five crucial points lead by going into the final 5 minutes of the match.

Yoddhas finished the game by 28-23 at the end of the second half and gave Delhi their first defeat of the PKL 11 season. Bhavani was the top scorer in the match scoring seven important points in a low-score thriller. With this win, Yoddhas are in fourth position in the points table, while Delhi holds the top position in the table.
