Bareilly: There is good news for people in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh who travel to Mathura-Vrindavan for religious visits. A new highway, National Highway 530B, is now fully ready and will be officially inaugurated on June 30. This highway will reduce the distance between Bareilly and Mathura by 60 kilometers and save nearly two hours of travel time.
Earlier, travelers often got stuck in long traffic jams, especially during religious events and festivals. But now, the journey will be much smoother and faster. The new route passes through Hathras, and the stretch from there to Raya Cut, which used to take hours, can now be covered in just 22 minutes.
Although the official opening is yet to happen, some vehicles have already started using the highway. The construction of bridges near Raya is complete, and the route is being prepared for full public use. Once it is fully operational, travel between Bareilly, Hathras, Mathura, Vrindavan, and even Noida will become much easier.
This highway is also beneficial for people traveling by air. With direct connectivity from Hathras and nearby districts to Jewar Airport, travelers won’t need to go to Delhi Airport anymore. It will now take only about one hour and 15 minutes to reach Jewar, saving both time and money.
A toll plaza has also been set up near Jawahar village in the Iglas police station area. Although the highway is not officially open yet, toll collection has already started, which has led to protests by local residents. PNC project coordinator Ashish Bansal said the road has been temporarily opened for use, and the stretch from Nagla Ummed and Budhu Nagla Hemraj to Yamuna Expressway can now be covered in just 22 minutes.
The new highway is expected to boost local tourism, especially to religious sites like Mathura and Vrindavan. It will also support employment, business growth, and technology development in the region. Traders, Haj pilgrims, and tourists will all benefit from this new road.
