Hyderabad: A circle inspector in Kazipet was booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) for sexually assaulting a minor girl, reports said.
The CI identified as M Ravi Kumar, reportedly approached the girl when she was with her classmate in the corridor of the apartment building and asked her classmate to leave.
Later, he asked her to come to his apartment, where he grabbed her and tried to drag her to his bedroom. The 16-year-old managed to escape from his clutches and run away from his apartment.
He later threatened the girl to not talk about the incident to anyone and took her mobile phone number by force.
The girl relayed the incident to her parents, who confronted the CI. He issued threats to the parents and harassed the girl by making many missed calls.
On October 22, Kazipet police filed an FIR against the inspector based on the complaint of the girl’s parents. He is booked under various sections of the BNS including 127 (2), 75 (2), 351 (2), 9 (a)v, 9 (c) r/w 10 POCSO Act 2012.
