During the discussion, Rahul Gandhi pointed out that some leaders prioritised their own interests over the party’s, though he did not specifically name Bhupendra Singh Hooda or Kumari Selja. According to sources, Rahul said that while the leaders’ personal interests took precedence, the party’s interests were neglected.

Following the election results, Congress leader Ajay Maken shared insights from the meeting, mentioning that they had expected to win, as all exit polls predicted a victory for them. However, they are now reviewing the defeat, discussing issues related to the electronic voting machines (EVMs) and internal conflicts among leaders.

The meeting included several Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, Ajay Maken and Ashok Gehlot. Although Bhupendra Hooda and Udaybhan were listed to attend, neither showed up, and it remains unclear if they were unable to attend or chose not to come. Kumari Selja and Randeep Surjewala were not invited to the meeting.

Congress will form committee

To further investigate the loss, Congress plans to form a committee that will explore the reasons behind the defeat. Additionally, Congress leaders are expressing concerns about the integrity of the EVMs.

Udaybhan said that the machines had been hacked, leading to suspicion across the state. Hooda expressed surprise at the election results, saying that public opinion suggested Congress was poised to win based on various surveys.
