Simi Garewal speaks up for Abhishek Bachchan
Amid the chatter, legendary actress and talk show host Simi Garewal has taken to social media to defend Abhishek and his family. Known for her longstanding relationship with the Bachchans, Garewal recently reposted a clip from her popular show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, where a younger Abhishek shared his views on commitment and loyalty.
The clip was originally aired in 2003 and has resurfaced as a response to the recent rumours, with many fans now reflecting on Abhishek’s words.
In the video, Abhishek says, “Call me old-fashioned, but I have nothing against being frivolous…but if you have committed to somebody, then abide by that commitment; otherwise, don’t make it.” He goes on to add, “I personally feel that as a man, if you commit to a woman…you should be loyal to her. Men are usually accused of being very disloyal; I have never been able to understand that, and I don’t agree with it. It disgusts me.”
Simi Garewal’s previous stance on Aishwarya-Abhishek divorce
Simi Garewal, 77, clearly frustrated with the recent online rumours, previously called out a social media post that suggested there was tension between Aishwarya and her father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan. In her post, Garewal criticized fans for jumping to conclusions about the Bachchan family’s dynamics, saying, “You people don’t know ANYTHING. Stop it.”
Recently, fans were quick to point out the absence of birthday posts from the Bachchans for Aishwarya’s 51st birthday on November 1. While Aishwarya celebrated her special day quietly, the silence from her family members on social media was immediately noted by fans.
