Mumbai: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi will be part of the Indian parliamentary delegation visiting multiple countries to expose Pakistan-backed terrorism, the party announced on Monday. The confirmation came after Union Minister Kiren Rijiju spoke to party chief Uddhav Thackeray to seek support for the initiative.
In a statement posted on X, the party said it had assured the Centre of its participation after receiving confirmation that the delegation was aimed purely at countering terrorism and not for political optics. “This delegation is about India against terrorism, not politics,” it said, adding that “we will do what is right and needed for our country.”

Backing Op Sindoor
The development comes weeks after the deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that left 26 civilians dead and amid Operation Sindoor — India’s ongoing military response to the attack. Shiv Sena (UBT) said all parties stand firmly behind the Indian armed forces and the government’s efforts to dismantle Pakistan-based terror networks. “There must be no two ways about it,” the party stressed.
At the same time, the Uddhav-led faction expressed concern over intelligence and security failures that led to the attack. “We do have our opinions about the diplomatic situation and the failed intelligence/security apparatus… and we will keep asking questions in the best interest of our nation, within our country,” the statement read.
Calls for better coordination
The party also criticised the lack of coordination in informing political parties about the international delegation. It said mismanagement could have been avoided with better communication and urged the government to establish a clearer protocol.
Seeking greater political consensus, Shiv Sena (UBT) has called for an all-party meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor, the military response that followed. “We stand united in our fight against terrorism,” the party affirmed.
