The opposition has seized upon the tragedy, using it to criticise the BJP’s handling of school infrastructure.
Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot described the incident as “criminal negligence,” highlighting what he claims is a two-year pattern of government inaction. He demanded a comprehensive investigation and immediate action against those responsible. His statement was met with a counter-argument from the state’s Education Minister, who placed blame squarely on the previous Congress regime. Five teachers have been suspended pending the outcome of an official inquiry into the causes of the collapse.
