New Delhi: Jaideep’s return boosted Haryana Steelers as they dominated Dabang Delhi K.C. while Telugu Titans eked out a thrilling victory against Patna Pirates in Pro Kabaddi League 11, at the GMCB Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli, Hyderabad on Monday. Haryana Steelers won the contest with a scoreline of 41-34 while things got close in the second clash as Telugu Titans won the game with scoreline at 28-26.

Steelers’ Mohammadreza Shadloui scored 10 points and Shivam Patre added eight to the team’s cause while for Dabang Delhi it was Ashu Malik who top scored with 13 points. Although Ashu Malik started the proceedings with an early point for his side, the Steelers got the better of their opponents in the initial minutes – racing away to a four-point lead. Patare did most of the work for the Steelers while skipper Jaideep, who played his first game of the season, got to settle well in the first ten minutes.

But it didn’t bother the Steelers at all who were equally efficient with their Super Tackles. When the clock ticked past the 30-minute mark, Ashu Malik inflicted an ALL-OUT on the Steelers, bringing Dabang Delhi back into the game but the Steelers weren’t having any of it. They eventually bagged the game 41-34 which was their second consecutive win of the tournament.

Telugu Titans pull off a nail-biter

The second clash of the day saw Pawan Sehrawat-led Telugu Titans bagging their second win of the ongoing season. Ashish Narwal top scored with nine points and Sehrawat added five more to the cause in the clash against Patna Pirates. During the early phase of the play, Devank and Ayan made the most impact for the Pirates, who held a two-point lead in the initial minutes. Meanwhile, Narwal delivered the first points to the Titans in the fourth minute.

With three minutes left in the first half, three-time champions Patna Pirates took a three-point lead. By the end of the first half, Pirates led the clash 13-10. In the second half, Sehrawat and his side upped their game as the scoreline was soon levelled at 14-14. With 10 minutes left on the clock, Narwal and the Titans landed an ALL-OUT and stormed into the lead despite Devank trying his best to keep the Pirates ahead.
