New Delhi: Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal A P Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday. The meeting comes amidst heightened tensions between India and Pakistan after the April 22 terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam.
PM’s meeting with Defence personnel
The meeting with the IAF chief comes just a day after the PM met the Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi. The Navy chief briefed the PM about the overall situation in the critical sea lanes in the Arabian Sea.
The PM also met the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday morning. These meetings gain significance in wake of the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 people dead. Before the meeting with the PM, Singh had met the Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan. The 2 reportedly discussed preparedness of the military and its operational readiness to counter terrorism in India.
PM Narendra Modi in his first reaction to the Pahalgam attack said that India will hunt down and punish those responsible for the heinous attack in Pahalgam.
