‘Opposition has rejected all norms of democracy ’: PM Modi to BJP workers in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hit out at the Congress and other Opposition parties and said that they have not only crushed the Constitution of the country but have also rejected all norms of democracy. Addressing the BJP workers on Friday in Bhubaneswar, the prime minister observed that while the people believed that the party won’t be able to form the government in the state on its own, the Assembly election results earlier this year, have surprised many.

He added that in recent times, the party has won in Odisha, then Haryana, and now Maharashtra, which showed the dedication and hard work of the BJP workers in the country.

Top quotes of PM Modi

  • 5 days ago I had the opportunity to participate in the grand celebration of Odisha Festival in Delhi. Those grand displays of Odia heritage and pride in the Odisha festival, the affection and closeness of the people of Odisha are very memorable moments for me.
  • First Odisha, then Haryana, and now Maharashtra! This is the specialty of BJP. This is the strength of BJP workers.
  • I can see in your eyes the confidence that the results of the Maharashtra elections, Haryana elections, and the by-elections across the country have instilled in the entire country.
  • The spirit of the Constitution of India is crushed, and all the norms of democracy are rejected. Those who consider power as their birthright have not had power at the Centre for the last decade.
  • Till a few months before the elections, political experts completely rejected chances of BJP’s win in Odisha. They said that the BJP cannot become such a big force in the state, let alone form the government on its own strength. But when the results came, people were surprised.
  • The spirit of the Constitution of India is crushed, and all the norms of democracy are rejected. Those who consider power as their birthright have not had power at the Centre for the last decade.
  • Policy opposition is very natural in politics. There can be different opinions regarding any decision. Political parties also keep organizing movements to convey their message to the public. They also express their views while staying within the limits of democracy and the Constitution.
