New Delhi: The Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 killed 26 innocent civilians, and the world waited in bated breath to see India’s response. The Centre and the Indian Armed Forces stood tall and gave a befitting reply to Pakistan and its state-funded terrorists through the devastating Operation Sindoor that destroyed several terrorist camps in the neighbouring country and the POK.
A special thing of the operation that caught the eye of the common people is its logo, which reflected a sense of grief and justice while also highlighting the important of ‘sindoor’ in Indian culture. Once unveiled, the logo became viral, with people sharing it en masse. But do you know who designed this logo? Let’s find out in this article.
Who designed the logo of Operation Sindoor?
According to a report by the Indian Express, the logo of Operation Sindoor was created by two soldiers of the Indian Army, Lieutenant Colonel Harsh Gupta and Havaldar Surinder Singh. The logo has the name ‘Operation Sindoor’ written in big letters in the logo.
In this, an ‘O’ is shown like a bowl of red sindoor (vermilion), which is scattered. The spilled sindoor represents widowed women who lost their husbands in the Pahalgam terror attack. In Hindu tradition, women wear sindoor as a symbol of marital status. Interestingly, the two Army personnel created the logo in just 45 minutes.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the name
According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the name Operation Sindoor. The name reflects the pain of married women who became widows after the Pahalgam attack.
Last week, PM Modi said at a rally in Bikaner that India’s enemies and the rest of the world have seen what happens when “sindoor turns to gunpowder”, and added that now, sindoor runs through his veins. He said, “Now, Mother India’s servant Modi is standing here with his head held high. Modi’s mind is cool, it stays cool, but Modi’s blood runs hot. And now, not blood, but hot vermilion is flowing through Modi’s veins.”
Over 100 terrorists were killed in Operation Sindoor
In Operation Sindoor, nine terrorist hideouts were targeted in Pakistan and POK. More than 100 terrorists were killed in the operation. The hideouts of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen in Bahawalpur, Muzaffarabad, Kotli and Sialkot were completely destroyed. The terrorists killed included close associates and family members of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar.
