Gurugram: Four senior employees of AISATS, Air India’s gateway services were sacked by the company. Reports said that they were asked to resign after a video showed the employees of the company partying, just days after the tragic Ahmedabad plane crash. The video of the employees partying and dancing has gone viral on social media.

According to a report in NDTV, the party was organised at AISATS’ Gurugram office, just a few days after the tragic Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crash in Ahmedabad. The aviation disaster killed 259 people.

A spokesperson for AISATS said that the company stands in solidarity with the families of those killed in the AI-787 plane crash. He expressed regret for the internal video which has also made its way to social media, and which showed employees dancing at a party, a few days after the tragic plane crash in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad.

The spokesperson said, “At AISATS, we stand in solidarity with families affected by the tragic loss of AI 171 and deeply regret the lapse in judgment reflected in a recent internal video.”

He said that the behaviour did not align with the values of the company and that firm action will be taken against those responsible. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to empathy, professionalism, and accountability.

The company has asked 4 of its senior employees to resign and also warned others.

AISATS is a 50-50 venture of 2 companies, Air India Ltd, which is part of the Tata Group, and SATS Ltd. SATS Ltd. specialises in gateway services and food solutions.

Air India plane crash

A London-bound Air India aircraft, Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed soon after takeoff from the Ahmedabad airport on June 12. There were 242 people onboard the aircraft.

The accident killed 241 people onboard the aircraft and several others on the ground. The accident was described as one of the worst aviation disasters in the country. The flight was under the command of Captain Sumeet Sabharwal and co-pilot Clive Kunder.
