New Delhi: In a powerful address from Manama, Bahrain, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MP Asaduddin Owaisi launched a scathing condemnation of Pakistan, accusing its terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam of justifying the slaughter of innocent people by audaciously demanding their religion.
Speaking as part of an all-party delegation led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda, Owaisi did not mince words, labelling Pakistan a “failed state” during an interaction with prominent figures.
“These terrorist organisations have justified killings of innocent people in India and they have out of context quoted Quranic verses…we have to put an end to it. They have used religion to justify the killing of people. Islam condemns terrorism and the Quran has categorically stated that the killing of one innocent person is like killing whole of humankind,” Owaisi said.
He drew a stark comparison, asserting that there is no difference between the Pakistani terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam killings and groups like ISIS in Syria.
Elaborating on the delegation’s critical mission, Owaisi explained, “Our government has sent us over here. so that the world knows the threat India has been facing since last so many years. Unfortunately, we have lost so many innocent lives. This problem emanates from Pakistan only. Unless and until Pakistan stops promoting, aiding and sponsoring these terrorist groups, this problem won’t go away.”
He added that India’s government has taken all necessary steps to protect its citizens and has sent an unequivocal message to Pakistan that any future “misadventure” will be met with a response far beyond their expectations.
Owaisi also highlighted India’s consistent exercise of maximum restraint despite severe provocations, emphasising the profound human tragedy of the Pahalgam attack, which claimed 26 lives. He shared heartbreaking examples, including a woman becoming a widow mere days after her marriage and another losing her husband only two months into theirs.
“Please reflect on the human tragedy of this massacre. A woman who married six days ago became a widow on the seventh day. Another woman, married just two months ago, also lost her husband in this attack,” he said.
Underscoring national unity, Owaisi affirmed, “There is unanimity in our country, irrespective of whatever political affiliations we belong to. We have our political differences, but when it comes to the integrity of our country, it is high time our neighbouring country understands.” He called upon the Bahrain government to support India in pressuring Pakistan back onto the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list, citing the use of funds to support these very terrorists.
The multi-party delegation, comprising seven distinct groups, aims to brief international partners on India’s resolute response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and its broader fight against cross-border terrorism.
Their itinerary includes engagements with leaders in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria, with the goal of countering global misinformation and firmly establishing India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism. The delegation notably includes BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, BJP MP Phangnon Konyak, NJP MP Rekha Sharma, MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and Ambassador Harsh Shringla.
