New Zealand Cricket faces backlash for showing wrong map of India

New Delhi: New Zealand Cricket came under heavy criticism ahead of the second Test against India in Pune starting on Thursday, October 24. In a now-deleted social media post, the Kiwis shared a map of India showing the wrong borders of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh regions.

The New Zealand Cricket shared a creative post detailing the team’s travel plans to Pune for the second and to Mumbai for the third Test, beginning on Friday, November 1.

The Kiwis faced massive criticism after the post went viral with fans on social media expressing anger over the incorrect depiction of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh borders.

India aim to bounce back in Pune

Despite the promptness to delete the post, New Zealand Cricket continued to face the ire of the Indian fans. The incident happened following New Zealand’s 8-wicket win over India in the opening Test at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The Kiwis stunned the hosts to register their first win on the Indian soil since 1988. It was a remarkable performance by the visitors who first bowled India out for 46 to set up a memorable win.

India will be aiming to bounce back in the second Test in their bid to save the series and keep their long unbeaten run at home intact.
