Use of deodar in the Angvastra is a nod to the Uttarakhand Himalayas

For some time now, the center has been producing Samman Vastra. Shukla emphasized that when guests visit Uttarakhand, whether for festivals or other occasions, they should be honored with items that reflect the state’s culture and heritage. The use of deodar in the Angvastra is a nod to the Uttarakhand Himalayas.

The garment’s border features Aipan art

Deodar is the most popular plant in Uttarakhand, and the state is abundant with it. It holds significant importance in mythological texts and has its own unique charm. By making deodar the theme, the center created a garment that incorporates the essence of Uttarakhand. The garment’s border features Aipan art, with a deodar tree in the center, and its prints are designed in the form of beads. This has resulted in the creation of a patka or a garment that stands out.
