Mumbai: In a dramatic incident at Maharashtra’s administrative building, Deputy Speaker Narhari Zirwal, who belongs to the Ajit Pawar faction of legislators, attempted to jump from the third floor of the building. However, he was saved as he got caught in the safety net installed on the building’s facade.

According to reports, Zirwal opposed the demand for reservation for Dhangar community under the Scheduled Tribe (ST) quota, which might have triggered the act.

This isn’t the first such incident in the Mantralaya. Over time, several people have attempted similar actions, leading the authorities to install safety nets around the building. These nets are designed to prevent accidents, and many people have been saved by getting caught in them during such incidents.
