New Delhi: In a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia alleged that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is involved in serious criminal activities, accusing one of its MLAs, Naresh Balyan, of running an extortion racket with the party’s consent. Bhatia referred to AAP as a party of “Kattar beimaan pappi” and claimed that the party operates like a group of gangsters under Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s approval.
Bhatia presented an audio clip as evidence, claiming it reveals MLA Naresh Balyan discussing extortion plans with a gangster. According to the BJP leader, the conversation in the clip involves demands for money from a builder, discussions about hawala transactions and instructions to speak through secure lines to avoid detection. Bhatia further alleged that the MLA behaved as if he and the gangster were close associates.

Audio clip evidence
Bhatia played the purported audio clip during the press conference, in which he claimed the AAP MLA could be heard instructing the gangster on how to extort money from the builder. He alleged that the MLA was not only threatening the builder but also expressing fear of being caught, saying they should communicate through different phones or in person to stay under the radar.
In the clip, it is also claimed that the MLA talked about receiving money through hawala channels, further implicating him in illegal financial activities. Bhatia asserted that such behavior is unbecoming of an elected representative.

Previous allegations
The BJP spokesperson also mentioned a previous instance where another audio clip allegedly featured Balyan involved in similar extortion activities. Bhatia argued that such recurring behavior points to a pattern of criminal conduct within AAP.
Bhatia demanded a response from AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi CM Atishi, questioning whether they would expel the MLA in light of the allegations. He said that failure to take action would imply that these extortion activities are being carried out with Kejriwal’s approval.
Bhatia also criticized AAP government, calling it a regime of criminals and extortionists and urged the people of Delhi to demand change. He accused the party of exploiting its power and claimed that even amid controversies like the liquor scam, AAP is indulging in extortion through its MLAs.
