Karnataka HC takes suo motu cognizance of Bengaluru stampede, hearing at 2.30 pm today

Bengaluru: Karnataka High Court on Thursday took suo-moto cognizance of the stampede incident that took place at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The tragic incident took place during a public event celebrating RCB’s first IPL win on Wednesday and led to the death of 11 people, with many others injured.

The court will hear the case on Thursday at 2.30 pm. The stampede reportedly took place after a large crowd gathered at gate no 7 following rumours of free ticket distribution. People rushed in, leading to chaos and panic. Many fell and were injured as the situation went out of control.
