In a similar incident, a massive explosion occurred at 4:45 AM in Raju Bela Chhichhra village in Gurdaspur district, creating a 40-foot-long and 15-foot-deep crater in an open field. The blast shattered windows across a 3–4 km radius, sparking panic among villagers. The loud explosion drew the entire village to the site, highlighting growing concerns over cross-border threats.
The drone attack by Pakistan started after India on Wednesday destroyed several terror hubs along LoC and Pakistan in response to the Pahalgam attack. Terror units backed by groups based in Pakistan on April 22, 2025, attacked civilians in the Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination in Kashmir. The attack resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians, including a local resident. The assailants, armed with M4 carbines and AK-47s, entered the area and carried out the assault, making it the deadliest attack on civilians in India since the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
