New Delhi: The Indian air defence units on Saturday morning at around 5 am destroyed multiple Pakistani drones that were spotted loitering over Khasa Cantt in Amritsar. The Indian Army shared the information about the combat through its official account on social media.

Terming the act a blatant violation of India’s sovereignty, the Army condemned Pakistan’s continued escalation through drone strikes and other munitions. Reaffirming its resolve, the Army stated it will decisively counter all hostile actions against the nation.

The drone attack by Pakistan started after India on Wednesday destroyed several terror hubs along LoC and Pakistan in response to the Pahalgam attack. Terror units backed by groups based in Pakistan on April 22, 2025, attacked civilians in the Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination in Kashmir. The attack resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians, including a local resident. The assailants, armed with M4 carbines and AK-47s, entered the area and carried out the assault, making it the deadliest attack on civilians in India since the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
