India vs New Zealand: In a first, Kiwis attain rare milestone against India in Tests

New Delhi: New Zealand registered a rare feat on the third day of the first Test match against India in Bengaluru on Friday. The Kiwis made a mockery of the Indian bowlers after bowling them out for a paltry score of 46 runs in the first innings earlier on Thursday, rattling even the biggies of the Indian set up.

Dominating the first session of play completely, the Kiwis continued their proceedings in a firm manner in the post-lunch session as well. Rachin Ravindra and Tim Southee smashed a century and a fifty respectively to push the lead considerably. Meanwhile, during the remarkable batting efforts, New Zealand registered a big Test feat against India at their home for the first time.

A historic first for NZ as they amass mammoth lead

For the first time in their Test history, the Black Caps managed to take a first innings lead of over 300 runs against India in India. In their long Test history, never had the Kiwis managed to take such a big lead over the Men in Blue at their den.

Meanwhile, after a remarkable show from their batters, the visitors were finally bowled out for 402 runs in 91.3 overs, taking a massive 356-run first innings lead over the hosts. Ravindra starred with the bat smashing 134 runs while Southee hit 65 runs. Devon Conway was also brilliant with the bat as he scored 91 runs to help in the cause.

For India, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja picked three wickets apiece while Siraj took 2 wickets. Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah claimed a wicket apiece. India have a tough road ahead in this match and need to showcase their best efforts if they aim to save the opening contest of the series.
